In December 2017, Makpol Recykling Sp. z o.o. received funding under the European Funds for the implementation of the project called: “Establishment of the Research and Development Center for the development of technologies for the processing and production of alternative fuels for industry at MAKPOL Recykling Sp. z o.o. as a way to increase the innovativeness and competitiveness of the company’s offer.” The subject of the project is the construction of modern research and development infrastructure in order to implement research and development projects with high innovative potential. Investment means the creation of a new plant and diversification of the business.

The main subject of the Centre’s activity will be to conduct independently and in cooperation industrial research and development works in the field of developing new types and recipes of alternative fuels for industry as well as tools and accessories used in technological processes. The Centre’s activities will also include the optimization of waste treatment processes and a significant improvement in the performance, ecological and quality parameters of manufacturing processes.

In order to implement the project, the company intends to build a new cubature facility for the needs of CBR with an area of 2100 m2 on its plot, which will be intended exclusively for research and development activities. As part of the investment, new fixed assets will be purchased in the form of necessary research and laboratory equipment and intangible assets in the form of software necessary for R&D activities.

The implementation of the project was assumed for the years 2018-2019.

The implementation of this project will lead to the creation of 10 new R&D staff, the creation of new products and technologies that are competitive in terms of price and quality, establishing lasting cooperation with companies and scientific units, professional activation in the region, as well as to eliminating barriers to access to new jobs. The project will have a positive impact on the sustainable development policy due to the fact that the products created under the research agenda will be characterized by the highest standards. eco-innovative ones not available on the market today. The result of the project will be a significant increase in expenditures on research activities in the company.

The total value of the project is PLN 19,203,375.

For the implementation of the project, co-financing was obtained under the European Funds in the amount of PLN 7,025,625.
